Privacy
PlayGrown keeps a record of a child's season for the adult who looks after them. That means holding some information about a child, so here is exactly what, exactly why, and exactly how to make it go away.
Last updated 1 September 2026.
The short version
- A player card is private by default. Nobody sees it but the adult who made it, unless that adult sends a share link — and a share link can be revoked.
- We never store a photograph of a child. The picture on a card is an illustrated character, drawn to settings the adult chose.
- We store a birth month and year, never a full date of birth. It is used to work out an age group, and the card shows the age group, not the birthday.
- There is no advertising, no analytics and no third-party tracking anywhere on this site. Nothing here follows anybody around the internet.
- We do not sell or share personal information. There is nobody to sell it to that we would be willing to sell it to.
- Deleting a player card deletes everything attached to it, for good.
What we collect, and why
From the adult holding the account
An email address. That is the entire account. There is no password — signing in sends a one-time link to that address, which is why we need it. It is also how we would contact you about the service.
About the player
Whatever the adult chooses to put on the card:
- First name, last name, and a generated nickname.
- Birth month and year, and whether they play up an age group.
- Their club, their main position, and the three attributes on the front of the card.
- The settings that describe their character — hair, kit, build and so on — and the resulting illustration.
The season record, if it gets used
- Games: date, opponent, score, roughly how long they played, where on the field, goals, assists, saves, cards, how they felt they played, what went well and what to work on, and any note the adult adds.
- Juggling: counts per foot with dates, and which tricks are ticked off.
- Quizzes: attempts, answers and badges earned.
The match log and the juggling log are private. They are not on the public card, not in a share link, and not on a printed card.
Technical
A sign-in cookie so you stay signed in. A record of recent sign-in requests per email address, so nobody can use the sign-in form to flood somebody's inbox. Ordinary server logs kept by our hosting provider.
Who else touches it
As few people as possible, and none of them for their own purposes:
- Our hosting and database providers run the servers the site and its data sit on.
- Our email provider receives the adult's email address in order to deliver the sign-in link.
- An image generation service draws the character. It receives the chosen settings — hair, skin tone, kit, build, and an approximate age — and never the child's name, their club, or any photograph.
Club, league and field information in the directory comes from public sources and is not personal information about anybody's child.
Children
A card is created and controlled by a parent or guardian, who confirms they are one when they make it. Cards are private by default; a child's name is never published by us, and no picture of a child is ever stored or shown.
If you believe a card has been created for your child by somebody without the right to do it, email hello@playgrown.club and we will remove it.
Getting rid of it
You can do both of these yourself, from your account page, without asking us:
- Delete one card. Removes that child's card, character, season record, match log, juggling record, badges and any share links.
- Close your account. Removes every card on it, your email address, your own badges and your sign-in history.
Both are immediate and permanent — there is no recycle bin, which is the point of asking for something to be deleted. We keep one thing afterwards: a record that a character illustration was generated and what it cost us, with the player removed from it. That is a billing and abuse audit of a paid service, and it says nothing about who it was for.
To ask what is held about you, or for help with any of the above, email hello@playgrown.club.
How long we keep it
For as long as you keep the card, because the whole purpose is to still be there in four years when somebody wants to know what their season looked like at nine. Nothing expires on a timer. When you delete it, it is gone.
Keeping it safe
Data is held with established hosting and database providers, encrypted in transit and at rest by them. There are no passwords to steal because there are none — signing in uses a one-time link. Access to the live database is limited to the operator named below.
No system is perfect. If something goes wrong that affects your family's information, we will tell you what happened rather than hope you do not notice.
Changes
If what we collect changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. We will not quietly start collecting something new.
